HYDROLOGY
Students in the field / Estudiantes en el campo
UNAH staff and students went in to the field on several days to collect water samples as well as water quality and water channel characteristic data at each site. This data will be used to establish a water quality database which UNAH can continue to develop. The preferred protocol is that a student from one day accompanies 2-3 students new to fieldwork the following day to enhance their learning experience / Docentes y estudiantes de la UNAH salieron al campo durante varios días para recoger muestras de agua, así como datos sobre la calidad del agua y las características de los canales en cada sitio. Estos datos se utilizarán para crear una base de datos sobre la calidad del agua que la UNAH podrá seguir desarrollando. El protocolo preferido es que un estudiante de un día acompañe a 2-3 estudiantes nuevos en el trabajo de campo al día siguiente para mejorar su experiencia de aprendizaje.

On returning to the laboratory, UNAH staff and students prepared the water samples for further analysis for coliformes, metals, etc at a later date. Vegetation \& Soil Transect investigation
A full day field activity was offered to enable UNAH staff and students to become more familiar with field investigations of vegetation and soil types. The participants spent the morning in the field visiting three sites in close proximity but distinctive in their soil and vegetation characteristics which they had to investigate. In the afternoon, in the laboratory, they had to analyse and present their findings and conclusions.
